E-Portfolios @ NBTS
What is an e-Portfolio?
An e-portfolio is an electronic collection of demonstrations, resources and accomplishments of an individual, group or institution. As an administrative tool, e-Portfolios serve as a way for NBTS to gather data used in assessing student and programmatic learning outcomes, making the accreditation and assessment process more visible. Student showcase e-Portfolios can be used to support career preparation and credential documentation even after their matriculation from NBTS.
Why use e-Portfolios?
The value added benefit of using e-Portfolios include:
- The ability to reflect upon student learning and programmatic outcomes
- The ability to electronically organize and present learning experiences.
- Students have the ability to self-assess their progress at any point during their matriculation.
- Creating electronic presentations and sources for specific audiences.
- Supporting lifelong learning.
How Do I Access My e-Portfolio?
Students can access their individual e-Portfolios through any of their courses located in SAKAI. Simply log into SAKAI and access any one of your courses (must be for the current semester). The e-Portfolio tool will appear in the course. All students have been provided with two portfolios. For more information on accessing your portfolio, click on an item below:
