Biographical Sketch • Rev. Terry Ann Smith, Ph.D.
Dr. Terry Ann Smith is the Associate Dean of Institutional Assessment and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at New Brunswick Theological Seminary. Dr. Smith oversees the assessment of the institution’s degree programs, its certificate programs and the Lilly grant on Economic Challenges Facing Future Ministers. She teaches biblical Hebrew and courses in the Old Testament including: Introduction to Old Testament, Biblical Research and Writing and elective courses on the books of Ruth, Daniel and Isaiah. Her writings include various articles on the book of Daniel, Rachel and Leah, Sarah and Ishmael, and the prophet Isaiah. She is currently co-authoring a commentary on Ezra-Nehemiah. Dr. Smith holds a Ph.D. and Master of Philosophy from Drew University in Madison, NJ, a Master of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Science in Management and Master of Science in Information Systems from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. As an Associate Minister at Calvary Baptist Church in Morristown where she serves as the Minister to Missions, Dr. Smith’s guiding scripture for faith and practice is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God and God will direct your path.”
