Dr. Jaesung Cha Attends Underwood Memorial Orchestra Concert

The 2012 Underwood Memorial Orchestra Concert was held on the evening of December 16th at the New Jersey Chodae Community Church in Norwood, NJ.
Dr. Jaesung Cha attended the concert on behalf of New Brunswick Theological Seminary and shared encouragement, gratitude and an opening prayer. The music director, Dr. Heamee Kang Kim, conducted the full orchestra of 53 members for and audience of about 350 people. The symphony played Der Freischutz Overture (Carl Maria Weber), Symphony No. 40 in G minor (W.A. Mozart), A Christmas Festival (Leroy Anderson) and Arirang Fantasy for Orchestra (Sunghwan Choi).
Also soprano Hyerin Yoon and Tenor Sungwook Kim performed hymns and Korean lyric songs for the grateful audience. Some in attendance were moved to tears by the familiar hymns and Korean folk tunes.
Dr. Horace Grand Underwood Video was played during the intermission to remind folk of his passion for and with unreached people.
The Rev.Laurel Underwood, a 4th generation descendant of Dr. Underwood, shared greetings and a closing prayer.
The Underwood Chorus and Orchestra were founded in July of 2004 in the loving memory of Dr. Horace G. Underwood. The evening offering was contributed to the Underwood Chair in Global Christianity at New Brunswick Theological Seminary.
