Come celebrate the power of poetry for ministry through a day of worship, panel discussions, and workshops. Practice interpreting and writing poems. Enjoy readings by our featured poet Maren Tirabassi. The reschedule date for the festival is pending. Maren C. Tirabassi is the author of eighteen books, most recently Gifts in Open Hands More Resources for the Global Community (2011) and the updated and revised earlier title Touch Holiness: Resources for Worship (2012), both Pilgrim Press. Other titles include Before the Amen and Caring for Ourselves While Caring for Our Elders, and forthcoming is From Psalms to Twitter  Prayers for a Digital Age. Maren has been a bi-vocational pastor for thirty-two years and currently serves Union United Church of Christ in Madbury, NH. Maren is a former Poet Laureate of Portsmouth, NH and travels throughout the country facilitating workshops on creative worship and liturgical writing as well as teaching memoir and poetry in a range of settings from recovery group to senior center, correctional facility to ESL class. She lives with Don Tirabassi and Willie the Beagle in Portsmouth and loves hiking, swimming, and reading science fiction and fantasy.
