Generous Donor Contributions Provide New Library Computers

Thanks to the generosity of a few caring NBTS supporters, students and other patrons who use the computers in the historic Gardner A. Sage Library have something to cheer about quietly, of course. The Library has completed the installation of new computer processors that are much faster and more reliable than their predecessors.

The Library replaced the old PCs in response to complaints that they were often painfully slow, froze up and crashed regularly, and often were unable to handle large files (such as graphic-intensive pages, images and PDF documents). The previous machines ran Microsoft XP, an old version of the Windows operating system. Many students have newer versions of Microsoft software at home and were unable to open their own files on the Library's machines.

Hearing of the need and the complaints! President Gregg Mast, Dr. Beth Tanner and three other donors (who wish to remain anonymous) contributed the funding necessary to purchase the new computer systems. The students are extremely grateful; on average, more than 200 people use the computers each week.

The new machines handle larger files much more effectively, and will grow as the Seminary's needs change.
