Thank you for your interest in participating in the Seminary’s mission by making a contribution in support of our vital work.

We rely upon the on-going generosity of our family of donors to support the Annual Appeal, and to help underwrite program initiatives through a major gift or bequest.

This year’s operating budget is $3.5 million and the goal of our Annual Appeal is $1.2 million. Your contributions help us meet the cost of operations and ensure that our academic programs remain at the highest level of excellence.

As a supporter, you are a partner with us in preparing women and men to translate their calling and gifts into faithful Christian ministry. You are part of our family and, indeed, the most important part because your gifts make all that we do possible.

We are grateful to you for answering your call to support us. Whenever we gather for prayer in our Chapel, we ask our gracious God to bless you for your goodness and generosity, and for all you do for New Brunswick Theological Seminary.

Ways to Support New Brunswick Theological Seminary

Annual Giving

Annual Giving to the Seminary help us with our operating budget. It helps to pay for the cost of running the Seminary. We rely on our family of supporters to donate to us each year because, with their support, we are able to ensure that our academic programs remain at the highest level of excellence and that we have the best staff possible to serve our students.
Some Annual Giving is restricted to help underwrite specific areas of our program such as scholarships or special projects.
You may make a contribution to us through gifts of cash, stocks, bonds, or other securities, or gifts of property.
All gifts are tax-deductible and support New Brunswick Theological Seminary students and programs at its two campuses: New Brunswick, NJ, and at St. John’s University in Jamaica Queens, NY.

Gifts of Cash

To make a gift of cash, make your check payable to New Brunswick Theological Seminary and send it to the Development Department, New Brunswick Theological Seminary, 17 Seminary Place, New Brunswick, New Jersey 08901-1196.

Gifts of Stocks

To make a gift of stocks, bonds or other securities, which are worth more than when you acquired them, you will maximize your tax benefit by transferring them directly to New Brunswick Theological Seminary. You will receive fair market value for your gift based on the date of your gift and, in most cases, avoid capital gains taxes on the appreciated value. If you were to sell your securities and then make a cash contribution, you might be liable for capital gains tax on the appreciated investment.
The following steps will ensure a smooth transfer and acknowledgement of your stock gift:
1. Please call the Development office at 732-247-5241 or email us at rcarroll@nbts.edu to let us know that date you will be transferring securities and the name and number of shares. This will help us to correctly identify, record and acknowledge your gift.
2. Your brokerage firm may transfer your gift directly into the NBTS account at UBS Financial Services. The NBTS account is LK2373024, and the DTC number is 0221. Our account representative is Diane Silvestri. If you or your broker wish to speak with her she can be reached at 732-494-4744.
3. Should you require it, our U.S. federal identification number is 22-1994554.
