Spiritual Formation
Spiritual formation is a vital aspect of preparation for ministry.
Seminary retreats, worship and course work provide opportunities for spiritual growth.
In addition, the Seminary will arrange spiritual direction for students who are
seeking to become more attentive to God's presence in their lives. Through personal
meetings with a spiritual director, students are helped to cultivate the spiritual
disciplines of prayer, meditation and listening. For assistance in finding a spiritual
director, please see the Assistant Dean.
Bookstore
The Seminary bookstore is in operation throughout the year. Required textbooks are available,
many at a 10% discount. Additionally, students may purchase other books of interest, and order
robes and other clerical apparel.
Work-Study
There are a limited number of work-study jobs available on campus which can help a student
finance his or her theological education. Students may be able to work in the Library or
assist at the receptionist desk. For more information, please contact the Business Office.
Insurance
Students should carry adequate hospitalization and life insurance for themselves and their
families. The Board of Pensions of the Reformed Church in America makes available to all
students a major medical plan and a group life insurance plan, for which new students become
eligible on the first day of actual attendance in class. Payment is the responsibility of the
student. No examinations are required during the initial grace period which ends October 1 of
the year of matriculation.
