| Welcome to New Brunswick Theological Seminary Campus Housing.
Seminary housing is intended primarily for students enrolled for
full academic loads. If excess housing is available, students
registered for less than a full load may apply, however second degree
students, part-time students, and non-students in Seminary housing
may be required to vacate their rooms or apartments when a full-time
student who requires housing subsequently enrolls at the Seminary.
The Seminary makes housing assignments according to the following
guidelines:
First Degree, Full-time M.Div. and M.A.T.S
candidates have priority over all other student types. First Degree,
Part-time M.Div. and M.A.T.S candidates follow and then Second
Degree students based on need.
When students have equal need, the student
with earlier admission and housing deposit date will have priority.
Seniors and Middlers receive preference
according to their class. However, a student’s housing needs
(e.g. family size etc.) has precedence over admission date.
Once a housing application is submitted and the admission deposit
has been paid the applicant will be added to a waiting list according
to the above mentioned guidelines. A separate list will be
posted for full-time and part-time students. If your student
status changes prior to housing assignments being made, you must
contact the Housing Office in writing stating this change.
If you contact the Housing Office in writing, you will be placed
on the appropriate list according to date applied. If you
do not contact the housing office in writing you will be placed
on the appropriate list according to the date housing office learns
of your student status change. The Student Housing Office will keep
this waiting list.
Candidates for a Master of Divinity degree may occupy subsidized
Seminary housing for three years; Master of Theological Studies
students may occupy subsidized housing for two years. The
Seminary may extend this time limit at its discretion, provided
space is available. Except for students in a joint degree
program, no one may occupy Seminary housing beyond three years without
the express written permission of the administration. Students
remaining in campus housing beyond the end of their program must
pay the full market value rental of their housing.
The Seminary assigns a Resident Assistant to monitor
compliance with housing regulations. The Resident Assistant
may call house meetings at his or her discretion to address issues
of concern to residents. The Resident Assistant also serves
as a liaison to the administration regarding housing issues and
concerns. The Resident Assistant is an employee of the Seminary
and serves to ensure the integrity of the Seminary.
