Special Lectures
Each year a series of lectures is presented as part of the "Standing
Seminar in RCA History." Additional lectures are given annually
by visiting scholars and church leaders; through the Seminary's continuing
education program; as part of the Seminary's Alumni/ae Association;
and, in celebration of the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Students are encouraged to participate in these special lectures.
Center for Reformed Church
Studies
The Center for Reformed Church Studies encourages study and reflection
on the Reformed Church in America within the broader context of
the Seminary's life and missions. The Center seeks to bring RCA
students together by sponsoring several workshops for them each
year on a variety of subjects touching upon the life of the denomination.
It brings speakers to campus, through the "Standing Seminary
in RCA History" program mentioned above, and sponsors conferences
on issues facing the RCA, such as the major conference on Ecumenism
that was held in the Spring of 2001. The Center also cooperates
with the RCA Archives in bringing researchers to campus, in part
through the Albert A. Smith Fellowship for research in RCA history,
awarded annually.
