About TransJazz – Contemporary Jazz Gospel Band:

TransJazz is a Metro-New York City based gospel band that creatively uses contemporary jazz and other music styles. This intergenerational and interdenominational band is composed of ten members with a unique style that has been described as “Sade, turned on to Jesus.”  TransJazz has two CD albums released under EBL Records: Transitions and New Day featuring their very talented singer, Vanessa Daley-Johnson. The band was nominated for two Urban Gospel Music Alliance awards. TransJazz has performed at over eighty events, including in seven concerts with legendary singer Melba Moore. Recently, TransJazz added two great young talented musicians: Franceska Marie, a stand-out gospel singer with gift for jazz; and Stephen Kopp, a world-class classical pianist with a great talent for gospel jazz. With all this variety of talent, TransJazz is now releasing Joy for the Journey, the band’s third CD.
