Dinner & Discussion with David Alexander​ (NBTS ’80), long-time RCA missionary to Taiwan, who was recently awarded the Order of the Brilliant Star with Violet Grand Cordon from Taiwan’s president Ma Ying-jeou, an award normally given to Taiwan citizens (and occasionally to foreigners) is in recognition of a high degree of service to the nation over many years. He will talk about his work at Tainan Theological College and Seminary, where he teaches practical theology and language courses, and at Aletheia University, where he teaches translation skills to undergraduate students.

The suggested donation for dinner is $15.00/person, free for all NBTS students, faculty, and staff. RSVP to jbrumm@nbts.edu by Monday, March 14, 2016, if you plan to attend.

Rev. David Bruce Alexander, a missionary of the Reformed Church in America and a member of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan, has devoted nearly 40 years of his life to serving the people of Taiwan. Originally from the United States, he has enhanced education in Taiwan and promoted smart education services.  Rev. Alexander possesses a profound understanding of both Chinese and Western cultures, and has fostered religious exchanges between Taiwan and the United States. He has also been deeply committed to cultivating talent and making education accessible to all. In recognition of Rev. Alexander’s selflessness, meritorious deeds, and benevolence, the government of the Republic of China hereby confers upon him the Order of Brilliant Star with Violet Grand Cordon.
