About The Conference
| |
The Colonial Clergy conference, planned as part of a larger celebration this year of the Hudson's 400th anniversary, is a unique event. It is international in sponsorship and in invited speakers, it is a two-site conference and it is the first to be focused on this particular subject area.
Sponsors of the conference are from the Netherlands and from the East and Middle West of the United States. They include the Collegiate Church of New York, Van Raalte Institute, Reformed Church Center at New Brunswick Seminary, Roosevelt Study Center, and Reformed Church Archives.
The conference will be held September 27-28 in Holland, Michigan, and October 24 at First Reformed Church, New Brunswick, N.J. Speakers are from the Netherlands and the United States and will vary slightly at each of the two sites of the conference: at Holland - Leon van den Broeke, Willem Frijhof, Hans Krabbendam, Earl Wm. Kennedy, Firth Haring Fabend, and John Coakley; at New Brunswick - Leon van den Broeke, Joyce Goodfriend, John Coakley, Dirk Mouw, and Robert Naborn.
A book based on the conference papers is planned.
