Building a New Future Campaign
Throughout our long and rich history, New Brunswick Theological Seminary has focused on forming new generations of biblically grounded and theologically wise leaders called to transform their congregations, ministries and communities. In order to continue this sacred mission, In the late fall of 2013, NBTS announced the most ambitious fundraising campaign in its history. The $8 million “Building A New Future” Comprehensive Campaign helped raise the necessary funds to build on our strong foundations and move us into a new and exciting future. While the sale of a portion of our property is allowing us to build our new campus debt free, we are now poised and eager to deepen and broaden our sacred mission of transformational education. We lept and we discovered our many friends helped us grow wings! We are delighted and grateful to announce that we have made our campaign goal! This is a remarkable accomplishment which speaks eloquently to the deep support of those who pray for our holy work and witness.
Donations to the campaign were divided into two categories. First, we sought contributions to enhance our endowment funds in which the principal is invested. The proceeds expanded our student scholarships, provided for capital needs on our new campus, deepened our commitment to faculty development and created the Horace G. Underwood Chair and Center in Global Christianity. Second, we sought contributions to improve our historic and beautiful Gardner A. Sage Library and to address the operational needs required to form new generations of pastoral leaders through The Seminary Fund. Contributions to the first category are endowment-focused, utilizing the annual proceeds, while contributions to the second category were used upon receipt.
